Horgen – Small and Charming

On the floodlit tennis courts (clay and synthetic) of the Kapf sports complex, it’s “serve and volley” for everyone. Both young and old can enjoy a game of mini golf.

Next door, a lovely children’s playground with attractive equipment awaits. And if you want to go out without the little ones, the Horgen kindergarten lovingly takes care of your children. In the public library at the town hall, you can stock up on literature, browse the reading room at your leisure, or catch up on the latest newspapers.

Hiking in Horgen

Being outdoors in nature is the perfect way to relax. On hikes and walks around the forest-rich Horgen, you will encounter a magical landscape. The fresh, aromatic air of the Black Forest strengthens your health – keeping you fit and vital.

Around the four-valley village of Horgen, nine well-developed and clearly marked hiking trails lead through spruce and fir forests. At the deer enclosure in Banhölzle, interesting wildlife observations are possible. Shelters and barbecue areas invite you to rest and catch your breath.

One forest trail leads to the therapeutic water-treading facility in the Teufenbach Valley, where you can refresh your arms and legs according to the Kneipp method – a healthy way to strengthen your body.

Horgen in the Eschach Valley

Pure nature – that is what Horgen offers its guests. This charming resort lies idyllically at the confluence of the Baden Eschach and the Württemberg Eschach. The “united” Eschach winds its way through many bends toward Rottweil, where it flows into the Neckar.

In some places, the narrow Eschach Valley cuts deeply into the Muschelkalk (shell limestone). Steep slopes, rocky walls, forests, and heath characterize the landscape of the roughly two-million-year-old Eschach Gorge. Highly recommended is the hike up to the romantic ruins of Wildenstein Castle.
